The YAAB was established in August 2020 after the CRHC decided to seek funding through HUD’s Youth Homeless Demonstration Program (YHDP). Since its inception, the board has diligently utilized their lived experiences to identify barriers and needs for YYA experiencing homelessness.

We, the Young Adult Action Board (YAAB), are dedicated to eradicating homelessness among young adults aged 18-24. Through our personal experiences, we advocate for and support our homeless peers by driving policy change and promoting community engagement in the TN-500 region, ensuring that homelessness becomes a thing of the past for young people.
Our vision is a future where every young adult aged 18- 24 in the TN-500 region has a safe, stable, and nurturing home. Through our advocacy, peer support, and policy initiatives, we aspire to create a community where homelessness is a distant memory, and all young adults can pursue their dreams with hope and dignity.
A Youth Action Board (YAB) is a group of young individuals dedicated to advocating for youth-related issues, influencing policies, and driving positive change in their communities.
